Google Scholar – Use to search diverse sources from one convenient place and f ind scholarly papers, abstracts and citations. Scholar provides pricing and order information from publishers. Use the Advanced search option for best results.

Google Book Search – Provides contents and sample passages of books Google has recorded and links to online bookstores for purchasing. Use the Advanced search option for best results .

Amazon.com – Articles as well as books are now available for purchase on Amazon.com the online bookstore. Search for your topic in the Advanced book search form. Search tips are available on the page. Before purchasing an article through Amazon search for the journal or article through Google to ensure the article is not available without charge from the source.

Alerting Services


Journal article e-mail Alerting Services are designed to keep you
up-to-date with the publication of new articles based on keywords you
have chosen or by automatic emailing of tables of contents.  Most
require guest registration. Following are two examples of Landscape
journals offering this service but this feature is now common to
almost all scientific and many popular journals.

Landscape and Urban Planning: An International Journal of Landscape
Ecology, Planning and Design
offers free volume/issue alerts as well
as free access to their tables of contents for current and older
issues.  Choose options from the column on the right of the journal
home page.


Landscape Research also offers free alerting service after
registration.

Google Alerts Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results based on your choice of query or topic. You can choose how often you wish to receive them.
